The Mythical Cars Rally, the race reserved for the top World Rally cars that have written the history of 25 special years, is born. A truly innovative road racing event is coming.
Cars that have remained in the hearts of enthusiasts and in the collective imagination even of those who have only encountered rallies in passing, a territory devoted to hospitality and in great growth, special stages that have written the history of author countersteering, shows, events and glamour that for four days will transform Varzi and the Oltrepò Pavese into the capital of Motorsport. These, in short, are the ingredients of the 1st Mythical Cars Rally, the race that will be staged in Varzi from May 24 to 27 on special stages rooted in the myth of the "4 Regioni."
The idea is as simple as it is powerful: to bring the most beautiful and evocative cars of an extraordinary period of world rallies onto the road, the one that goes from 1995 to 2021. An "atypically experimental" race, reserved precisely for those queens of counter-steering: the latest Group A 4×4, the World Rally Cars of every generation, but also the kit-cars that were able to impose themselves on the asphalts of the World Championship. Dream cars such as the Lancia Delta Hf Integrale in its latest evolution, the Subaru Impreza Group A and Wrc, the Mitsubishi Lancer, the Peugeot 306 Maxi, and then again the Ford Escort Cosworth, the Focus Wrc, passing through the next generation of cars from the World Championship, the Wrc 1600 still so handsome and fascinating, such as the Citroën DS3 or the Ford Fiesta, to get to the Wrc Plus, the cars that animated the World Rally until 2021 and which have reached the top in terms of show and performance .
Dream cars, driven by some of the greatest interpreters of international rallying, given that more than one big name has already assured that they will want to be in Varzi's match.
Competition but not only: the 1st Mythical Cars Rally will also and above all be an event capable of turning the spotlight on Varzi and the whole territory. A happening designed for everyone: for hardcore rally fans but also for those who, thanks to the rally, will get to know the beauty of the upper Oltrepò. The center of Varzi will be the absolute protagonist, with the stage in front of the Azzaretti convention center, the service park in the main square of the village and a long series of initiatives capable of involving every kind of audience:
dj-sets, dj shows, autograph sessions with top drivers, musical performances with nationally renowned artists, promotion of Oltrepò Pavese wines and products of excellence. Not just another rally then, but a catalyst of shows and attractions.
From a sporting point of view, the rally is designed to maximize action and minimize downtime: short transfers and about 80 km of special stages with the first on Friday night and the rest on Saturday, service park every two special stages, final finish with big party on Saturday night.
